Studio Murugiah was set up by Artist Sharm Murugiah who was raised in South Wales and currently resides in London, UK.
Sharm arrived at commercial art in the “best way possible” - the long way. After training as an architect, for seven years in total, the now- artist always knew he wanted to draw for a living. After a stint at Scribbler cards and later LEON restaurants, Sharm set up on his own as a freelance artist. And so, Studio Murugiah was born.
Working with inspiration from surrealism and pop culture Sharm uses strong colour and line to create bold impactful imagery.
In 2014, he won a D&AD award and has exhibited his work in galleries from France to the USA.
Sharm’s Clients have included: The Guardian, Variety, Penguin Random House, Laurence King Publlishing, Greenpeace, Shortlist, New Scientist, New Statesman, Little White Lies, Empire, Ad Age, Arrow Films, Disney, Lucasfilm, EMI and AMC
